Post-Hike Gear List (original pre-hike post here)
The bolded items/comments indicate things that changed from my initial gear list.
The Big Three
- Backpack: Osprey Exos 58

- Sleeping System: Hyperlamina Spark Sleeping Bag (I never switched this out, but probably should have. I’d go with a warmer sleeping bag next time), Therm-a-Rest Z Lite Sol, Sleeping Bag Liner
Clothes Worn and Packed
Marmot Lobo pantsSwitched out for a pair of Colombia hiking pants in Helena which fit better since I’d lost weight.- Stoic Women’s Merino Lightweight Bottom

- Brooks Cascadia 11 I went through three pairs of Cascadias, and the next two were 12s
Superfeet Berry insolesDitched these after Breckenridge, CO since my feet no longer needed or wanted them.Dirty Girl GaitersI wanted to love these, but they irritated my skin and I gave up on them early on.- Thermolator glove liners I kept these but never really wore them.
- Colombia lightweight fleece
- Running shorts
UA Tech T-ShirtThis eventually got holes and I swapped it out with a generic Family Dollar exercise shirt in WY.- UA Eclipse sports bra
- Exofficio underwear
- Outdoor Research Swift Sun Hat
- Sunglasses Replaced in CO when I accidentally left them by the side of the road when waiting for a hitch.
- Added a second thermal layer of leggings and long-sleeve shirt from the Walmart in Helena MT.
- Added a fleece beanie in Helena.
- Added flip-flops for camp shoes early on. The comfort overruled the weight gain.
Water and Food Gear
Sawyer MiniSwitched this out for the Sawyer squeeze which was MUCH faster and not much heavier.(2) Sawyer Squeeze 1 L water bladdersThese eventually died and I swapped them out with more Smart Water bottles and Gatorade bottles.- Platypus 2 L water bladder
- Bleach drops
- Smart Water plastic disposable water bottle Replaced occasionally throughout the hike.
Solo Stove Lite (shared with sister)Sent home after we realized we were cold-soaking all our meals anyway.- Lighter and waterproof matches

Light My Fire plastic sporkMy sister snapped this in a peanut butter jar several weeks into the hike, and after that I used a cheap disposable plastic spoon picked up at a continental breakfast at one of the places we stayed. It worked just fine.

Suntactics S5 Solar Charger (shared with sister)This stopped providing a good charge about two-thirds into the hike and we both switched to cheap battery banks we picked up at a Family Dollar along the way, which honestly worked much better for us.- Toiletries

- Microspikes and ice axe for all the sketchy snowfields. I obviously survived, but it would have been nice to have these.
